Army Dreamers

I was thinking about a post that my friend on Metaphysic Storm wrote and for some reason this song by Kate Bush came to mind. It is a depressing anti- war themed song. The young man goes off to war because he does not have the education or the money to do anything else with his life, and returns home dead.

I then continued the thought about his post and this song, Army Dreamers, and started really contemplating our contenders for President. I asked my sister, who has always been a staunch Democrat, who she was voting for and she said emphatically, John McCain.

I was really surprised thinking she would say Hillary, and asked why she was so sure that he was the correct choice. Her reasoning is that we need a president that can manage the war and manage the small emerging countries that have nuclear weapons. It is imperative, she said, that we get this under control and I do not think that anyone else has the experience to get the job done.

Back to the song Army Dreamers, I think part of her decision is also based on the fact she is the mother of a 16 year old boy who does not always achieve in school and does not have the money to buy his way out of a draft. He very well could end up a victim as could everyone’s children if we do not reach some sort of resolution in Iraq and Iran and if we do not have the diplomacy to make peace with emerging nuclear nations.

I still plan to vote for Obama in the primaries, but will keep an open mind based on what I think is best for our future generations in the final election.

if i were an american i'd support huckabee because he's pledged to do away with the irs and impose a consumption based tax.

the overheated planet is a result of over consumption that needs to be rained in. people hate taxes and may consume less if taxed on it.

Looks like John McCain might have the last laugh!

He just might.

I will likely be proven wrong, but I don't think anyone can screw things up worse than the current figurehead.

BTW, did the email of my pics make it through to you ok?
